The 5.56×30mm MINSAS is an ammunition manufactured by the Ordnance Factories Board for close quarter battle use. The round is somewhat a derivative of the experimental Colt MARS, using a bottlenecked case 30mm long, loaded with a light pointed bullet with a steel penetrator core. The bullet weighs 2.6 grams (40 gr) and muzzle velocity from 300mm (11.8 inches) barrel of the Modern Sub Machine. Nov 23, 2009 The poweder in a 22WMR is a bit slower burning and has less puresure than the 5.7. Its just a fact. Now, in a rifle length (16″), then the come out almost equal. Maybe 100fps towards the 5.7, but, they use almost the exact same bullet. I know this first hand as that hornady and cci/speer both make bullets for the 22WMR and 5.7.

The cartridge was designed for replacements of 7.62×25mm Tokarev-chambered small arms for the People's Liberation Army that would offer a wound as large as a standard 9×19mm Parabellum round.[3] This round is offered in both a standard, and subsonic version.[1] Both the QSZ-92 service pistol and the QCW-05 submachine gun are produced in this caliber as well as 9×19mm Parabellum.[4][5]
The 5.8×21mm is considerably less powerful than similar Western PDW cartridges like the 5.7×28mm and 4.6×30mm. It however fires a much heavier steel-cored 3 g (46 gr) projectile that has a muzzle velocity of 530 m/s (1,700 ft/s) and muzzle energy of 420 J (310 ft⋅lb) from a 250 mm (9.8 in) submachine gun barrel. The round can penetrate 1.3 mm (0.051 in) of helmet steel plate, and 50 mm (2.0 in) of pine wood behind it, out to 100 metres (110 yd).[6]
